after reading more about the russian company sup's acquisition of livejournal, i have decided to leave. my decision to leave is purely ethical. sup is a company controlled by a member of the kremlin political party, the choice political party of ex-russian president vladimir putin, through which he controls his puppet successor, dmitry medvedev.

in russia, the kremlin political party murders people like me, people with my political beliefs and goals. i would not be able to live with myself if i continued to patronize a company that endorses such behavior. in my eyes, it would be nearly as horrible as doing the things that they do myself.

in the future, i may purchase a domain for my own use. i am tired of middle man companies that attempt to censor my thoughts.

for now, i will post my contact information in a friends only entry for my friends here. from this point on, all of my contact information will be removed from my user profile.

thank you all for four years of support and friendship. i hope that you can understand my reason for leaving and respect it for what it is. please don't forget to stay in touch.

i study swedish for a half hour to an hour every day. this is the most that i have ever studied anything, outside of school, or otherwise.

last weekend, an old woman pushed a box of christmas cards halfway across the counter to me to ring up, but then she paused and looked down at them skeptically. i watched her quietly for a few moments and then asked, "do you still want to get those, or...?"

i thought she was already feeling buyer's remorse, but she looked up at me calmly and said, "i better not. i don't even know if i'm going to be here next christmas."

i could tell by the look in her eyes that by here, she meant alive.

it has been a long time since i've been able to read something in another language and understand every bit of it. of course, this gradually happened, after reading this latin passage several times through, but as i began to understand it more and more, i became more and more eager to completely demystify it. once i finally did, this feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment unlike any other washed over me. i felt like i had actually done something worthwhile, even though i had simply read this latin passage and understood it.

i am starting to become extremely passionate about languages.

yesterday after the religious scandal in english, i found out that my mom's patient is literally giving her a week of her time share, which can be used anywhere in the world, including the holiday club in tegefjäll, sweden. since my mom is dying to go to pagan mid-summer festivities in sweden, it seems as though a trip is highly probable.

it feels so much better now that it's done.

on new years, i decided that this year would be the year of jenn. this year would be the year to take more time for myself and to spend more time on my appearance, because, let's face it, i've never been very good at being a girly girl. it takes a lot of effort on my part.

essentially, my resolution was to take better care of myself emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

anyway, here is an update of all of the things that i've been doing correctly in order to actually fulfill my new years resolution:

+i have managed to keep my nails looking at the very least clean and presentable at all times. i just need to buff them more often! :O
+i have managed to get regular haircuts, but i am due for a bang trim.
+i wear burt's bees pomegranate lip balm every day.
+i got lush shampoo, conditioner, and lotion in karma and oatmeal soap from wild oats, so i always smell good.
+i take baths every night instead of showers, because they are more relaxing.
+i have finally gotten a personal trainer, almost two months into the year of jenn, but whatever. she's kicking my ass, but in a good way. i want a hot bod again! ):
+i ride all of my dressage lessons without stirrups, and that's kicking my ass, too. they're like forty-five minutes of solid trot work.
+i need to get more cute clothes and more moccasins! (i want to stop at that moccasin shop in casa grande so badly next saturday when tag goes to tucson!)

last but not least, here are some things i need to improve on:
+eat less chocolate! ...and junk in general.
+exercise more! ride more, especially.
+play ukulele and piano more.
+write more.
